Skills development

PERINTIS is a pilot program implemented under the Indonesia Australia Partnership for Infrastructure (KIAT) focused on trialling gender-sensitive, inclusive and sustainable approaches to skills training in the sanitation sector.

KIAT is funded by the Australian Government and supports sustainable and inclusive economic growth through improved access to infrastructure for all people.

PERINTIS is being piloted in Palembang City where KIAT is already supporting major sanitation infrastructure works. The pilot aims to increase access to job opportunities for women, people with disabilities and unemployed youth, and will work with communities in areas benefitting from KIAT sanitation support. The pilot is part of the Australian Government’s COVID-19 Development Response Plan which is supporting Indonesia on its recovery from the pandemic. Through skills training, PERINTIS will help people increase their access to job opportunities and entrepreneurial opportunities, particularly related to water and sanitation, public health, waste management, and other environmental areas.

PERINTIS is implemented by Scope Global.
