Australia Awards – South Asia & Mongolia aims to build the skills and knowledge of individuals so that they can contribute to their country’s development, as well as to support the ongoing development of links between Australia and countries in the region (specifically Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka).

The Australia Awards are an important part of the Australian Government’s focus on public and economic diplomacy, and provide long term scholarships as well as short course awards, supported by complementary enabling activities.

Australia Awards – South Asia & Mongolia is managed by Scope Global on behalf of the Australian Government.

In October 2021, for purposes of administrative efficiency and to create new cross-program opportunities for scholars and alumni, the Australia Awards – South Asia and Australia Awards – Mongolia programs were merged into a single program: Australia Awards – South Asia & Mongolia.
