Kiribati Facility (including Skills for Employment Program)

Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT)

The Kiribati Facility comprises the Skills for Employment Program and the Flexible Support Facility.

The Kiribati Facility is an Australian-government funded program that delivers its key priorities through the Skills for Employment Program at the Kiribati Institute of Technology (KIT).

KIT is a leading vocational education and training institute with three campuses in Kiribati. It offers accredited and non-accredited courses that lead to domestic and international employment opportunities for the people of Kiribati.

The Kiribati Facility supports KIT to deliver services such as:

  • Demand-driven skills training and assessment in partnership with Australian registered training organisations leading to the award of international qualifications for successful KIT students
  • The Employment Support Services unit, which prepares I-Kiribati workers for overseas employment
  • Maintaining strong partnerships with other regional and international programs to create job opportunities for KIT graduates
  • Working with local governments to prioritise inclusive skills training nationally and employment opportunities across the region.
