Angela works in the role of Regional Finance and Administration Manager with Australia Awards – South West Asia. She’s based Colombo, Sri Lanka.
What are the main tasks involved in your current role?
I ensure the effective implementation of corporate and program financial and administration policies and systems in country teams in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
How long have you worked at Scope Global? Since May 2015.
What do you like most about working at Scope Global?
Diversity and the nature of work done by each of the projects especially in the education sector. Being in a regional role enables me to be part of the operational process across five countries. Each country has its own development issues making it more interesting and enlightening. Listening to alumni share their experiences makes me feel I am working in the correct sector and proud to be part of the development process
Which of our values do you identify with most, and why?
High performance. For me, quality of work takes precedence and I like working with a team that sees this as a priority. I am very fortunate to work with the Australia Awards – South West Asia Team as they are always looking at new and innovative avenues of delivery of the program.
What is your favourite memory of working at Scope Global?
Moving into the lovely office in Colombo. I was involved in the start-up in getting the infrastructure in place. Four years down the line, we have had many challenges , yet the office ambience has been great, enabling us all to work very contentedly to ensure delivery of program objectives.
What are your interests/passions?
I love travelling and seeing new places, meeting people from different social and cultural backgrounds. I am passionate about upholding values such as respect for others, being kind, gentle and straightforward. I also enjoy reading in my spare time, listening to classical music, spending time with family, friends and my pets. I have an adorable beagle called Snoopy and Marbles my cat who commands my attention whenever I am home.
